Between Decks 1.0 - El Capitano's Cabin
I made this pop-up escape room in one of our ship cabins while floating in the Caribbean. Besides limited lock resources, a big challenge to overcome was ensuring no permanent changes were made to the cabin and it's fixtures. Ship's company was invited to play March 31- April 15, 2021. There were 37 groups, (140 total players) and they escaped with an average time of 18 minutes.
The Story:
The ship's captain, El Capitano, has just arrived on board and was rushed into meetings and captain duties. He needs your help! Go into his cabin and retrieve these three important items: the ship's key, El Capitano's passport, and the name of the next port-of-call. We need to be ready to sail in 30 minutes. Hurry and collect the items so we can depart on time!

Between Decks 2.0 - Submarine Hope
I made this pop-up escape room in our ship's volunteer lounge during a two week sailing across the Atlantic Ocean. Besides limited lock resources, a big challenge to overcome was ensuring no permanent changes were made to the space or it's fixtures. Ship's company was invited to play November 6-13, 2021. There were 40 groups, (148 total players) and they escaped with an average time of 21 minutes.
The Story:
Welcome on board the world's largest submersible bookfair. We sail beneath the waves sharing knowledge, help, and hope to the nations. There's been an emergency - the internet is out! You must go to the Top Secret Control Room and PRESS THE RED BUTTON! This in turn will surface the sub so it can reconnect to the internet. The Captain says we have 30 minutes until the crew become useless and we begin to drift under the waves.
